AgeGroup is proud to sponsor Longevitech TLV 2023, taking place in Tel Aviv, Israel, on the 13th and 14th of February. Ahead of the event, we’ve interviewed many of the individuals who will be participating in Longevitech TLV 2023 to learn about them and their businesses. In this feature, we meet Dr Ira Sobel, co-founder of Longevitech TLV.
Hi Dr Sobel. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to speak with us. Tell us about Longevitech TLV.
LONGEVITECH TLV is an interdisciplinary conference for the global community with the aim of leveraging global perspectives, best practices and ways we can work together to ensure financial wellness and healthy ageing for all. LONGEVITECH TLV is building a global community that will focus on intersection of finance, health and technology.
Key areas such as social and long-term care, late life employment and end-of-life planning are global issues that require collective thinking, collaboration across different disciplines and universal solutions. It requires thinking across boundaries.
LONGEVITECH TLV attendees will deliberate, explore ideas and share knowhow on how we empower the social and economic resilience of individuals as they age, regardless of socio-economic status, background, geography and culture.
LONGEVITECH TLV will look at the latest innovation and take a deep dive into the challenges, trends and disruptions that will shape the way people will live, work and retire across the globe.
The rise in life expectancy is changing the way we live, save, spend, retire, and pass on wealth to the next generations. A reset in our approach to ageing and longevity is greatly needed. Longevity creates opportunities for ‘healthy ageing’ but it also comes with risks, such as wealth de-accumulation and longer periods of social and economic dependence.
Financial and healthcare sectors around the globe must therefore explore novel ways to empower the ageing population through innovation.
Thank you for such a comprehensive summary. Who will be attending the event?
LONGEVITECH TLV will bring together key global players from across the financial and healthcare sectors, including fintech, healthtech, agetech and insurtech start-ups and entrepreneurs.
In attendance also will be age-friendly financial services, social entrepreneurs, VCs, investors, thought leaders, regulators and academics from across the globe.
We envisage around 30% of the attendees will be startups in the longevity space, with the majority of attendees coming from Europe and North America.
Wow! It’s seriously impressive that you have such a global reach for what is your inaugural event. I can only imagine how this will grow in the next few years! Can you tell us a little more about the objectives of the event and what you’re aiming to achieve?
The conference has three core objectives:
- To harness global perspectives, ideas and best practices.
- To redefine the process of ageing through innovation and collaboration.
- To lead change and social impact by building a more inclusive society for ageing populations across the globe.
To achieve this, we’ll discuss a range of topics and have brought together panellists and experts from around the world in various fields, including:
- Late life employment
- Emotional and cognitive wellbeing
- Longevity and long-term care
- Housing and ageing-in-place
- Utilisation of rights
- Inclusive fintech and age-friendly banking
- Alternative saving models
That’s a really comprehensive range of topics the event will cover. For those who are new to or unfamiliar with the longevity space, I’d imagine there’s a lot that they’d have never considered as something we need to address with ageing in mind.
Finally, where does the event take place?
We’re at Tel Aviv Stock Exchange on February 13th and Herzog Tower on February 14th.
Thank you for your time Dr Sobel, we look forward to seeing you at Longevitech!
Longevitech TLV 2023 takes place across 13th – 14th February.
